Description


It is a surgical procedure that removes excess loose skin from the eyelids for a younger appearance. Sometimes excess fat must be removed or relocated, especially from the lower lids.

Anesthesia

Upper eyelid blepharoplasty is done under local anesthetic while lower eyelid surgery needs general anesthesia.


Surgery Duration

Typical duration is 1 hour. The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis.


Expected Recovery

Expect swelling with some bruising around the eyes that typically subsides one week after surgery. Sutures are removed after 5 – 7 days and you will be able to return to work by that time.
